Officers found Cummings unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds in the 700 block of Rose Street around 1:33 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, according to Baltimore Police. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
A reward of up to $8,000 is now being offered for any information leading to an arrest for the murder of Cummings, officials say. Meanwhile, Cummings' family is trying to raise money to cover the cost of his funeral.
"Chone's brother was with him at the time of the attack and was also injured in the shooting," the GoFundMe reads. "This tragic loss has caused our family extreme emotional grief."
